Renewable Energy in Middle East

I have been reading on Middle East renewable energy growth prospects since the last few days. Looks like the market is expecting huge growth once the Governments there provide framework just like we see in India and Europe. The Gulf Arab region is increasingly considering investments in alternative energies to meet the rising energy consumption of its growing economies and consume less of its fossil energy resources at home so it can instead sell these on world markets. But we have yet to see effective & industry favorable laws.

On the otherhand, Egypt plans to generate some 20 percent of its energy from renewable sources by 2020, including through building wind farms along its eastern Red Sea coast.

One of my business associates is working on a solar thermal project in Oman. Wish him great success.
