CTI-PFAN India Event

I attended the CTI-PFAN event yesterday at Taj Land’s End Bandra, Mumbai. The event showcased 13 clean tech companies looking at growth funds to take advantage of the opportunities in India. The companies included solar module manufacturing, biomass, hydro, solar farms, electric scooters (winners of the event), solar product companies and solar EPC companies.

Overall the event was good with a mix of companies across the clean tech space as described above.

Insolare, a solar EPC player with pending patents that according to them can further make the entire solar farm system more efficient and also bring down the costs. The founders of the company Hemanshu and Sunit form a great team and it was a good opportunity to further know them following our emails and conference calls.

Photonix Solar, an upcoming solar crystalline module manufacturer, with 10MW operational and looking at expansion. It was nice talking to Mr.Deshpande (Director-Photonix) and discussing the road ahead for Indian solar module manufacturers and the emerging challenges & opportunities.

Wishing both the companies a great success for the future.

Missed speaking to couple of other interesting companies. Nevertheless, met some known faces including friends from Darashwaw, General Carbon and Ecolutions. Also finally managed to put faces against names with whom I have been speaking on phone- International Marketing Corporation, Sumi Solar and Mr.Ashok Das.

Thank You Kavita for organising a great event; well attended by experienced industry professionals and complimented with some great Taj dishes.
